Tips for Taking a Cruise

Okay, so you finally decided to take a cruise and aren’t sure what to expect. Taking a cruise can be very exciting but there are a few tips that you need to know to better enjoy your cruise experience. Once you get on board a cruise ship the activities and fun starts and doesn’t end until you are preparing to leave. Make the most of that time with these tips.

Tips for Taking a Cruise

The first thing you need to do once you get to your stateroom and put away your luggage is go exploring. Take a quick look over the map of the ship or take it with you if you can and just walk around and explore the ship. This allows you to do two things: find nook and cranny places that are off the beaten path and helps you better know how to get to certain places on the ship easily. You can also find mini bars and other small activities on these explorations.

If the ship you’re on doesn’t give you a map that will fit in your pocket, then know where they are located. You don’t want to get lost on the ship without any sort of knowledge on how to get back to your stateroom. Most ships post maps at elevators, stairs, and fire extinguishers. Take a minute and stop to look at them, they will help you find your way especially if you’ve already had a few drinks.

One of the most intriguing things for me on a cruise ship is the food. There is all sorts of food from all different cultures. It’s sometimes amazing what you will find on some of the menus. Don’t forget about the cruise ship activities and shows. Be sure to look over the ships itinerary to know what shows and activities are planned for each day. Most cruise ships have planned activities throughout the day and you don’t want to miss them.

Take Plenty of Pictures

Make sure you take loads of pictures on your cruise. A great way to save these photos if you’re on a Disney cruise is by getting a scrape book as well. Check out the Disney Cruise Line Large Scrapbook Album (pictured right).
